Okay, I'm tired of being a spectator. Reading all these romantic, mushy love poems has stirred my desire to be a participant. This is not my forte but nevertheless.

Midnight Kisses

Gentle waves lap at our feet
The sand’s still warm from the sun
To be in love is oh so sweet
When two souls entwine as one

We stand in the ocean’s foam
It tickles our toes like champagne
I’m so warm in your tender embrace
I don’t feel the falling rain

Laughing and running for shelter
We seek seclusion among the dunes
Our passion rises like high tide
Hidden away from all but the moon

Wrapped in our blanket of love
The cadence of hearts skip a beat
Romance soars on wings of a dove
Moonlight kisses taste deliciously sweet

Cheryl - for someone that doesn't write romance, this is a winner. And those kisses in the moonlight would be lovely, while dancing under that Haunted Moon...

Cheryl,my NC friend I don`t think there is a poem at all you couldn`t write.Your talent expands to all types. As for me I only have two kinds of poems and most of them are silly.I really loved this!

For someone who says her forte isn't romance, you sure do pen a tender romantic poem.

Hello Cheryl
You say that romantic poetry is not your forte? I find that so hard to believe.  You weaved your words of romance so well in this piece and I enjoyed it immensely.
Take care......Sue

For not having written romance before this was wonderful!  I loved it, you must write more.  This was SO sweet!!!  It makes me yearn for the ocean.  Great work!

Cheryl - Truly a moonlight masterpiece.  I think if you put your mind to it, you could write on any topic you wanted.  This is a perfect example of that.  Nice rhyme, rhythm, and imagery.  Well done, as always.

Juanita and Stevie, as always, thanks for being so kind in replying. Nita, I love you sweet down to earth poetry. Anything else would lack that warm quality that either has me smiling or crying. Never change what you excel at. Love, Cheryl
