In Splendor

Speak not to me in riddles
enchant me not with rhymes
simply say "I love you"
that your life is mine

Give my heartbeat wings,
dance my dreams a-flutter
release me from cocoon
to sip the moon of butter

Pause this mortal time
bring heaven to this place
wrap me in your arms
in passion's flowing lace

Summon the sun to melt
the very breath of me
unfold the yearn of you...
promise infinity

Spread the sky through my eyes
as bold as the blue it veils
shine the stars in mesmerize
through seduction's sails

Infuse my skin with spark,
lay me down in splendor
kiss my wanton sigh
dip me in surrender

Lick my luscious laugh,
make me your delicacy,
dine in kismet bond -
the grandest intimacy

Sing not to me in riddles
crown me not with rhymes
simply say "I want you"
that your fate is mine

Dearest melissa; I always need a huge "Sigh", and then take a deep breath, after I read your poems. This one is a breathtaking romantic gem! Hugs, Ellie

Melissa,
How sweet and strong, this poetic request asking for affirmation and anticipated fulfillment. Well Done. Dennis :^)
