A melancholy harpsichord
flats and sharps of memory
a shadow of a dancing child
freedom in obscurity
patterns hammer
notes entwine
a pause here
for a sip of wine
as just the thought
of you as mine
enslaves me
for eternity.

I'm trapped within
the passion's build
my foot sustains--
crescendo! (still...)
two chords of notes
ten fingers filled
with black and white apparency.

Oh yes, the stark reality!
A fool on stool
sparking the keys...
(oh no...) It's true absurdity.
To think of you
as my release.

My hands make groove in ivory.
I play, to keep your memory.

Karen, you have always been an inspiration to me.
Your boldness, the way you write your poetry unflawed
with emotion.  I never told you that did I?

Well, I just did!  Thank you!

serenity - I hear the song being played, and your words flowing with grace. A haunting guitar in the background, my fingers it would play...
