Love is
waking to the aroma of chamomile tea,
its warmth fanning your cheek
while still lying in bed.

Love is
finding a disheveled Barbie doll
and a stack of love poetry bundled in lilac ribbon
in your mom's attic.

Love is
trying on your Wedding dress on your
25th Anniversary and it still fits.

Love is
receiving a pogo stick for Christmas,
at the age of 39,
and outjumping your teen.

Love is
having planned a big night out for weeks,
but dining in by candlelight
instead.

Love is
reading the first poem you've ever written,
bringing those churning feelings
to the pit of your tummy.

Love is
asking if the baby is healthy
before asking its gender.

Love is
knitting a winter cap for a homeless child
with your arthritic hands.

Love is
visiting The Liberty Bell in your pajamas
for only $89.00 a night.

Love is
receiving a hug or a squeeze of the hand
or a cruise to Disney World
just because.

Love is
singing a love song to your lover
even though you are tone deaf.

Love is
falling asleep to the lull of the rain
on your lover's lap
during the Super Bowl.

Music, perfectly pitched,
Caresses the harshest curve.

Love can be felt in a variety of ways, such as the one's you have described here.  Great poem, I loved it!, ill add this to my thread! These would resemble my experiences and fellings of wha love is!

Love is all these things and more.
I like the way you describe the many facets of love.
Kethry.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown
