You soothe the jagged edges of my soul
raw wounds
from which fraying emotions bleed

you comfort my wounded heart
with the essence of your warmth
your love, tenderly wrapping itself
around the broken pieces

your tears mingle with mine
to become a swiftly flowing current
carrying the pain of all time
into the surging river of mortal fantasy

nightmares, emerging from consequence of fate
lie in tatters at our feet
eternally questioning past lives
and forever cherishing
our bonding passion

(sigh) You are sooooooo romantic, sweet friend, this is a tender and sensitive piece of the compassion of true love! (sigh) May your tears forever mingle with his and together may they sparkle with happiness as you feel for each other forever and grow in compassion and understanding to love! (kiss on cheek) I love this, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lyra, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Lyra...I believe we have all felt much of
these feelings during our lifetimes...for
reasons, similar...though not same...

You have captured the flow of tears well
within this...

Dear Lyra,
This is beautiful. You wrote it so well, and it's expresses a relationship that any human is lucky to have.

Beautiful picture and words to go with it.  The metaphore is evident and whomever this is written for and about is fortunate indeed.

Lyra, I knew it had to have been written for David. It's lovely and you know I'm impressed since I can't write free verse. My  hat's off to you. Nicely done. Cheryl

Lyra -  A truly beautiful and emotive write.  I don't seem to follow the rhyme scheme though.   Is that because it is free verse? I like writing free verse myself, though, I don't do it to often.
