Abstract Tapestries

Sand and water polished smooth
Then sun has scorched you dry
Twisted on this island shore
Pale sculptures left to lie

Roots that once held you tall
Now exposed to air and sun
Like tangled, abstract tapestries
Quite distinct, yes each one

Water’s journey washed you here
To exhibit you upon this shore
Gifting artworks to this scene
Nature’s beauty to explore

What a voyage you have made
From seedling to your demise
Yet even in your noble death
Such beauty you gift these eyes

I love to work with driftwood, flotsam and jetsom, 'free' articles from nature in kinetic sculptures. This is a fine poem. Your poetry is wonderful, and so are your photos. I visited your web site today, and will go back again. You project many wonderful thoughts and perspectives with both photos and words. Thank you for sharing them, but mostly I thank you for being a devoted caretaker and steward of planet Earth.

Brian...you have proven that a piece of
driftwood is a fine piece of time worn art.
Nice Poem...

Brian, you are truly a visionary poet who sees beyond reality into the beauty of all things!

brian--To touch a piece of wood like this with hands as with words, is wonderful.
