The Day I Fall in Love

The day is ripe for fruits to yield
The sweetness of desire
To harvest all the dreams to which
My empty heart aspires
The bluest sky is witness of
The day this woman falls in love

This hour is clearly marked for me
In golden rays of sun
The branding of my destiny
When heartache comes undone
The moment I’ve been thinking of
The day this woman falls in love

I’ve yet to see his gentle face
I’ve yet to touch his hand
But somewhere in this lovely place
There is a lonely man
Who waits as I for claiming of
The greatest joy, the greatest love

I know he’s near, for I can feel
The presence of his eye
Among the crowd he notices
A woman such as I
Today’s the day the cooing dove
Croons out to two who fall in love

I walk in mists of dreams that are
The dreams that don’t come true
But if I lived by my desires
I’d somehow come to find that you
Are all that I am dreaming of
And this, the day I fall in love

*sigh* I know just how you feel...keeps those dreams alive for indeed there is a man who will gaze into your eyes and be lost to the passion he finds there. **big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Elizabeth,
I really loved this. Your poetry has the ability to sweep one up and carry them along.

I'd love to be there when you find, the man who's image fits your mind.
His deepest wishes would come true, in just one moment alone with you.

My wedding ring just tightened.

Oh this is making me smile from ear to ear (and I read it twice).  I had forgotten what that day was like, thanks for the memory of one.
