Little bits of funk and rhythm
bitty bites of blues
a highway line beneath my feet--
miles and miles of you.

A suitcase filled with all of me--
I am the thumb that begs a ride.
You're the pushpin on the map;
our difference just inches wide.

You are the land of which I dreamed--
each breath that you exhale is "home."
I know each thought before you think
because they are my own.

Your eyes, your eyes, they hypnotize.
They are a healing spring.
I feel myself in bathe in them,
a cleansing of within.

Never have I felt this way.
I've never even liked myself.
But there must be "holy" in me,
for that is where you dwell.

I became a temple
since I've seen
the face of God.
All the complexes
are simple.
I'm redeemed.
The Goddess nods.

Sounds like we're coming, or going, or just getting there, but whichever way it is, sounds like the ride was fine...

Very thought provoking and I like the moving from the map image to the reality.  Very good read indeed.

Popping in to say thank you to you all--this was one of those "don't know where it came from things"--it was fun to just write and see where my pen would take me. Sort of like the road! Thanks again, you are all so wonderful!

se'en:

The title of this was very deceptive.  I clicked, thinking to find something lofty and classic, and instead was delighted by soft, hand-woven honesty.  Homespun, almost, and quite comfortable to read.

Well done, my friend.  Your poetry has indeed grown in many ways.
