Unfolding without effort is the bloom
No toil forces beauty from the vine
Abiding only it exudes perfume
Sweet aromatic pleasures come in time.
The eagle soars above the mountain crest
Upheld aloft by power not its own
A current caught provides it perfect rest
Attaining heights unreachable alone.
Cease striving for a form of righteousness
It’s only trust in His that brings true gain
By faith attain to peaceful blessedness;
Man's finest efforts only prove but vain.

Receive the gift He offers lovingly
And there abide for all eternity.

Denise,
A truly lovely piece straight from the heart.
The maker should be pleased with what he's wrought.

Thank you, Newell, Kris, Noah and Doc, for reading and for your lovely replies. I was reading all of the beautiful sonnets over in the workshop (thanks for the inspiration!) and just had to write one...it's been soooooo long.

It's absolutely perfect, Denise...rolls off the tongue effortlessly and smooth....not one hair out of place. It gets no better than this

I believe it was Sharon who said that when you write, Denise, it's quality. And she was right!

Let's see...perfection is a rose...no, it's a poem written about a perfect rose...no...no...it's a perfect poem written by Denise about a perfect rose...

That's it!
