Multicolored leaves pulsing
in cool morning breeze
displaying their beauty
before their demise.
They huddle together
in chill of night
striving to protect youth
and its hues of green.
As they hug and try to stay warm
frosty dark air breathes
in their midst...
magically seeps through veins
until each leaf wears a
coat of frosty dew.

Leaves awaken and realize
bunching together was fruitless.
They flutter to shake off dew
admire each other's new hues
of orange, yellow, and red.
Even though their youthful green
is fading, they're beautiful.
Their aging colors are more
spectacular and breathtaking
as nature pauses to admire
such elegance and grace.
While watching these leaves
live their last days in
blushing and emblazoned adornment

of various colors
I consider how I am similar.
I wore my youth plainly
needed no enhancement
but as the chill of age
seeps through my veins
my youthful color changes.
I rearrange and enhance
in shades of pink and tan
adorn myself in bright colors.
I flutter and pulse to live.

The title, the poem, wonderful entrance.
Yes, I say YES, colors of new beginnings
and please continue writing.  It's refreshing
to read something like this.

Welcome to Passions.  I can see where you might have a bit of age on you, as I do, for watching and understanding the change of leaves is something that can only come with time...if I mis-speak, forgive me.  Please! Enjoy yourself, and check your e-mail for a Special Greeting!

Really liked the comparison you drew between yourself and the beautiful autumn leaves that you described.  Nicely done.
