It is the death of one dream,
the birth of another.
Pain is the bridge
spanning hope's horizon.
Tears water the empty soil
keeping moisture silent,
waiting for the new seed
to be planted, to grow.
One heart is torn asunder,
the other built anew.
To reach the other shore,
my heart walks on water.

Love is waiting on wings
that flutter heartbeats
into existence,
~~~waft upon dreams.
I await the birth of the new,
~~~~~~my resurrection.

Nicely done here, Ivy Rose. I liked the idea of love bringing resurrection.

God bless America, my home sweet home.

Ivy, I am also awaiting that and this poem almost had me in
my angel outfit.  Thank you for this.  In fact, I think I will
wear a size 8 how does that sound?

Elizabeth...Thanks so much. I'm so happy that this poem made you think of love and resurrection. I appreciate your comments.

Irish Rose...Maybe we will both be able to fit into a size 8 angel gown. Yet in reality, I was writing about the loss of a special kind of love with a soul mate. I know if a seed of corn does not go into the ground and die...new life will never emerge. But it is painful this kind of loss. Thanks for your kind words and, most of all, your humor.

Thank you both,

***Ivy Rose

Ivy...I am not a man of a million words...
But a thousand or so could say all that
you have written within this powerful little
piece...Very well written...very well...

'Love is waiting on wings

Excellently expressed concepts, Ivy Rose...you definitely gave me something to think about...great write!
