I saw you there beside the pond.
I couldn’t move, could not speak.
Why? Why for you am I so fond?
It is your shimmering eyes I seek.

Birds effortless fly all around you
saying to me you are my one dream.
Telling my mind things I must do.
Even then, my limbs do heavy seem.

Laughing, smiling, twirling around.
Such grace, such beauty my eyes see.
Given my limbs the power to bound
for I would come to let you be free.

Let me move, as my destiny is near.
Give my lungs fresh air to once call
My mind whispers a word to hear
and with it, I have then said it all.

Sparkle of shimmering waters nearby
gives to you an aura I must once feel.
Whispering pines sing a song clear.
My love, my feelings of you so real.

Listen to the thoughts I would share
for they are of a love ever so great.
Come to my arms for I will then care
for of love’s hunger we shall have ate.

My brother has a phrase for a beautiful woman,
he says "she's a dream walkin'
this reminded me of that.
I bet you close your eyes and write these words
they are beautiful.

I enjoyed this poem spoken from the heart. And since I will always be a Carolinian in my heart, I enjoy reading poetry from other Carolineans.

Barry,

What a pretty poem I like the fourth stanza the best.  I enjoyed this read.
