I keep trying to help people caught up on the street of self-destruction. I get burned way too often and find I can only help for a short period of precious time.

Reaching my hands out
Extending to help you up
Starving I nourish you
Upon my ears stories unfold
Hardships crying within loneliness

So sorry is my heart
Mediocre chores you perform
To survive in warmth
As the meals wear on
Things start to be taken for granted
With things assumed for wandering

Upon my words I do reinforce
Some rules of courtesy and love
Nodding answers seem to do the trick
But reappearing visions of liberties taken
Makes your voice rises
In too much emotion

A door slams
As the child of the street
Continues the journey
On the streets frozen
In self destruction

Why have you forsaken me?
She cries in agony
As I repeat inwardly
Yes why have you forsaken me?
In the kindness that was
In my hand

Yes, yes, words always live when they come from a poets heart, and yours reach out to all these needy people. (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much, I too love to help people all the time and give them hope and mediate with their feelings! We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is wonderful! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lester, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

*sigh* if only they understood that love means that you love someone enough to give them limits but all too often they have never experienced real love and think it means just giving them whatever they want. No matter the hurt when we reach out and are rejected...our hearts make us keep reaching out because that is what kindness and compassion are really all about. Thank you, so much, for sharing this poem with me. **big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.
