Listening to every heart

Believing In What Breathes

She believes in others
more for them
to see that belief lift their spirits
and she breathes…

She believes in the child
and helps to wipe away the
“can’t, don’t, no” of their
existence
and she breathes…

She believes in the forces
of nature, the good and
bad of the wind and sun,
rain, tornadoes, hurricanes
sweeping through her days…
and she breathes…

She believes in things
she can’t see
and things that she can
and she breathes…

She believes in the aged,
that they have mostly lead
good lives and still have a
lesson to teach, so she listens,
and she breathes…

She believes in what she
hears and doesn’t hear,
reads between the lines,
separating chaff from wheat
and she breathes…

She believes in the you of you,
true of you, she holds tight
to your dreams when you
lose them, so they may be
returned, unharmed, still safe…
and she breathes…

She believes in a smile
that in passing it around
others will smile, and it
will pass on, and in that gesture,
the flutter of a butterfly’s wing
will create a breeze felt miles away…
and she breathes…

She believes in the young
and the middle aged,
those who wage truth,
who fight the good fight,
lose graciously,
strive to attend the next battle
and live to live another day,
and she breathes…

She believes in a true love,
one that is given for sake of giving,
that will be accepted for
the sake of the gift,
one that will either be here…
or there…
and she breathes…

She believes in one man
who believes in her
~ because ~
and she breathes…

She believes in breathing
and in breathing believes
to breathe one more day…

and she breathes…

That breathing takes my breath away

Breathe on, Sunshine, breathe on!

You take my breathe away
In Sunshine with your say
Two rainbows grow and spread
In beauty we are wed.

Sunshine~
I had the same problem as SEA....I couldn't begin to pick a favorite part of this...it is all so incredibly beautiful and inspiring.  Truly gorgeous writing, my dear friend!

And this is definitely one poem to "toss in the pile" as it is truly a breath of fresh air, and this could be a "winner"!  For to do all of the things mentioned in your poem, it is the breath that gives her that life and spirit to carry on and believe in herself to allow others to believe in themselves.

I had to pick these as my favorite lines -

She believes in one man
who believes in her
~ because ~
and she breathes…

I loved this one, and what a job well done indeed!

Sunshine,
you breathed life in to these words, so much so that they leapt from the page straight into my heart.
