*whispered*

The wind came knocking at window pane
in a gentle tapping kind of way
Insisting I let it in to explain
and listen to all it had to say

I opened just a crack and peaked out
to the velvet darkness of the night
“Are you there, wind?” I wanted to shout
as I searched the skies filled with starlight

It rushed past me caressing my face
and flew with glee all around the room
“A message I have brought to this place
and you’ll want to hear it I presume”

Waiting patiently, I sat silent
knowing that the wind will not be rushed
If pushed it could become violent
with storms and fierce gales that have crushed

Rattling pictures, curtains and doors
and then it started to settle down
It sat high upon my chest of drawers
gazing with a such curious frown

“I have come with thoughts said sincerely
from one whose honesty I respect”
Though *whispered* I heard the words clearly
“Your heart he’ll hold, honour and respect”

Without a sound the wind then took flight
leaving me gazing at empty air
“He’ll be seeking you in dreams each night
where you’ll have a phantom love affair!”

Karen,
A magical wisp of whimsy. A romance that rides the wind. There are certain things you don't do into the wind, but whispering a message of love is the best one I can imagine. Beautiful poem.

Sandra... I knew you would like the magic in this one...Thank you...**big hugs**

Mirror Man...I love to write fantasy and this one felt good when I was listening to our chinook winds shake the windows. I am glad you liked it. **big hugs**

floria... I am so glad you enjoyed it...sometimes the desire for fantasy just carries me away. **big hugs**

Nancy...I know just what you mean...wouldn't it be magical to have the wind carry your lover's words to you? **big hugs**

Silver Streak...*giggling* I will...I just can't seem to help myself. **big hugs**

Roger...I love the wind...it carries something so special with it...it is cleansing and, shoot, I don't know how to explain it but I love the wind. Thank you...I am so glad you liked this poem. **big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

*giggling* I used to love that show..I wonder if a little bit of that memory came into this poem....Oh yes, indeed, now that is a haunting I would love....   mmmmm maybe that is what also has inspired my poems about a phantom lover...gosh you sure have me thinking now.   **big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Goodness Karen,  your weaving of such
fantasies is so wonderfully done...I
can feel the presence of the whisper
flitting around the room....speaking
ever so softly...Excellent poem...

Karen - it was not a phantom, for it was I outside your window pane. And not the wind, but my whispers you heard...
