*it's kind of embarrassing to come back in here... i've not picked up a pen to write anything for a very long time. not to mention i've not been in here an even longer time. but i got inspired yesterday, and you know how that goes for us poets. and now that i've been in here just reading and reading... i know why i've felt just... incomplete i guess. so here's somethin new, and i'm glad i'm back.*

*snapshot (almost there)*

another photo album full
captured memories of my life
a steady, resounding bass line
of Who's and Where's and Why's
looking back at the empty cans
the good ol' boys; the one night stands;
it was just another wild time
just that old familiar melody

another flyer in the trash
another night dead in the ground
a passionate fling or the next best thing?
you'd better tell her now.
cause there's a whole world full of honesty
lying behind her eyes
and when you dial her number...
when you say her name...
why can't life be simple
like 35 millimeter frame?

almost there
for just one night
almost there
so close to right
almost there
this is what it's like
it's just so rare
to fall in love in a night

and we were almost there

another monday morning rises
another day full of dreams
when i close my eyes, i wonder
"Is the past as safe as it seems?"
i got fifty bucks and a case of beer.
i'm gonna drive this car so far from here...
was it just another wild time?
is it still that same ol' melody?

another tear for a rainy day
another smile stretching out my face
livin this life without regrets
livin life from day to day.
cause there's a whole world out there
just waiting for me
but when i close my eyes...
see that moment in time...
i see my perfect picture
in a picture perfect frame

almost there
for just one night
almost there
so close to right
almost there
this is what it's like
it's just so rare
to fall in love in a night

and we were almost there

*sigh* a single snapshot that had such a powerful affect. Life is so very like that. Wonderful writing...I hope to see more of your poems. "(almost there)" has such a sadness to it.....like a rare moment lost. **big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

ETHAN BABY!!!!! ....
HEY YOU!!!!!
its about time you got your cute keester in here and wrapped us in your rhymes and harmonies....
and this...this is classic Ethan ... the angst, the wisdom, the melodics

do you know how cool this is:

"cause there's a whole world full of honesty
                    lying behind her eyes
and when you dial her number...
                    when you say her name...
                    why can't life be simple

WAY COOL BABY ... and wise beyond your years ... (you always have been)
So good to find your name here .. dont stay away so long...but yeah ...
we always save your seat

I ask why you come here, you say just because
Could I live without it if I knew what it was
But it really dont matter when you look at me that way.

Ethan,
it's so good to have you back, now I know why my heart cries your name in the dark...it's because it remembers,
Kethry

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown
