Face In The Mirror

Each morning I look into the mirror
and see many memories unfold and wonder.

I see the young bride and a handsome sailor,
holding hands and promising true love forever.

I see intimate and passionate nights,
each one finding its place in each other’s hearts.

I see a beautiful baby girl with hair of gold,
holding her brother’s hand – he looked so bold.

Those were the days I will never forget,
ballgames and fishing those big ones –
catching them into the net.

We loved each other dearly and watched our children grow.
We were so proud of them, you were like
a big rooster wanting to crow.

As the years past, as often they do,
We grew apart and you chose another.
The hurt and rejection were unbearable and
drove me crazy – it is no wonder.

Life is not over for you and me.
We will meet again some day, hopefully peacefully.

I have my dreams and you have yours.
The face in the mirror holds memories and
stories of conflict and pleasure.
The face in the mirror holds hope, peace
And love forever and ever.

You had better believe it.  Very hard and there was nothing I could do.  It felt very helpless.  Thanks for stopping by.  Appreciated.
