Don’t Bother To Breathe

Don’t bother to breathe any more I told my chest
For he has now gone to his eternal rest
There’s no need to rise and fall like a wave
He isn’t here, he lies cold in that grave
No need lungs to fill yourself with air
For he’s gone he’s not here with you he’s there
Don’t bother to breathe in or breathe out
He’s gone he’s gone now is the time to mourn not shout

Don’t bother to listen any more I told my ears
For he has gone now is the time of fears
There’s no need to strain for his dear voice
He isn’t here and it wasn’t his choice
Be deaf don’t hear the choking cries
For he’s gone you’ll never more hear his sighs
Don’t bother to listen you can’t hear him now
He’s gone he’s gone I have to live but don’t know how?

Don’t bother to feel any more encase yourself in ice
For he’s gone now nothing again will ever suffice
There’s no need to touch be numb it’s best
He isn’t here he’s in his grave at rest
No need hands to touch anything
For he’s gone you won’t want to feel a thing
Don’t bother to feel you won’t touch him again
He’s gone he’s gone and I hate this eternal pain

Death Comes Unexpectedly

Death comes unexpectedly, it doesn’t make a date
None of us know when we’ll be called to heavens gate
When suddenly we find that the plans we’ve made
Vanish to nothing as in a grave our loves are laid
I didn’t, wouldn’t talk about our parting, now you’re gone
And somehow impossibly my heart must go on
I can’t concentrate on anything my head is dead
And all around me lies grief of the words left unsaid

Death comes unexpectedly why did it come today
I never realised it would be coming so soon anyway
You lie so cold and I can’t bear to see you like this
Now each moment is a lifetime without your kiss
And now everyone is claiming you they sweep you away
Oh dear LORD hear my words as on my knees I pray
Just give me a moment, a single moment again
So I can tell you I love you it might ease this pain

Death comes unexpectedly like a thief in the night
It stole you from me now you’re gone from my sight
What matters now that you loved me or that I loved you?
Right now there’s no hope that I’ll even get through
And I’m so cold there’s no warmth from your eyes
My heart is an icy wilderness filled with pain’s cries
Death comes unexpectedly it’s taken you from me
And I don’t know how I’ll ever again act normally

Dave darling boy done and done, not one poem but two, would you say I've taken the challenge? And my friends don't worry okay I'm fine, this is in answer to Daves challenge for me to write a sad poem. So he got two.

Well Marsha, I guess I will have to post a happy one now.  Anyway, I really liked both of these truly sad writes, but I know you had posted sad ones before.  I am pretty sure you posted a few at MT.  I was just trying to drag you to the dark side of writing, and you have taken the first step in my evil scheme.

By the way, don't try to convince people you are alright.  You know those who truly know you, know that isn't the case.   Have a goodnight (actually is it morning in good old England).

Marsha,
these are deadly chilling
no more death and killing
If you say ok to this
I'll seal your sorrow with a kiss.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh my gosh, these are sooooooo beautiful but so very sad and heartaching, sweet friend, I am happy these don't apply to you emotionally, for I felt like adding you to my crying list! (kiss on cheek) I love them, sweet friend, you always write such beautiful challenges. Now write a happy one, for me and us all! (smiles) We all love you so much, sweet Marsha, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Marsha,

I'd say you have met the challange quite well.  These were some dark sad poems if I ever read one.  I'm very glad that you are ok  and this was simply a challange met. Wonderful writing

Hugs,
Tara

Dave darling boy thank you A HAPPY POEM from you is worth me digging into the corners of my soul that don't like to be bared.

Yes I've posted the odd sad one but on the whole you know I go for upbeat. Well, of a certainty these days certainly. I am beloved, by friends and family and that is enough to banish even the worst fears.

Now remember Payment is due by the 19 January. And I shall expect it to be utterly utterly wonderful as always

Keth darling sister of my heart and keeper of my soul, okay I promise, no more sad poems. YOU know where these came from, and they can now scurry off to the dark recesses hopefully never to be seen again.

Now seal them up with a kiss they have gone

Tara darling girl thank you so very very much. Actually a very close friend did have a near death experience not so long ago and this triggered some very emotional poetry from me. I don't normally ponder much about one 'what if's' because we have to Seize the day however this did brong me to think about it.

I'm pleased you liked the poetry, and glad that those who love me are all alive and well and doing okay

Take care of yourself darling girl YOU are special
