Dying Dreams
Tanka

Though inside I die
the sky still sings in sapphire
yet, how do dreams breathe
when love has no guarantee
and life, no inspiration

Oh Melissa, a bit on the dark side, a bitter brew of tea, but lovely in its creation of lexis...well done, dear!

This is a beautiful tanka, Melissa. But...

Melissa - you have certainly inserted a lot of meaning in so few words. Liked this much...

Melissa, I have wondered this..how I feel like I am dying, but the world all goes on the same, and the beauty is still there. Thankfully the beauty usually renews me. This is well written.
Take care

How do you manage to write sad feelings with such beauty Melissa?

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

I'm sorry to hear that so many can relate to this...hopelessness is a bitter pill to swallow.
But, thank you very much to everyone who took the time out to share their feelings.
Your comments are always greatly appreciated

how can dreams breathe?

they breathe because deep down in our hearts, we can't give up our sense of longing yet...

hope this isn't autobiographical..if so, hugs to you...

Sweet Melissa, Loveliest of Tankas and sadly  profound your words, but time passes and joy comes in the morning, always! Hugs Ellie

Flawless write Melissa.  I once was told, when you least expect it, it walks right up to you and sweeps you off  your feet.  I hope for you this comes true!!

A beautifully written Tanka, Melissa...
but please be assured...there is always hope for love...and it usually comes when you least expect it to and when you aren't searching for it.
