state of confusion

I hate this murky pond,
my reflection stares back
in a distorted, bitter smirk.
Focus, instead,
on swimming lessons,
TREAD
some, any movement,
or risk sinking further.

Remember,
KICK
slowly against undercurrents,
untangle the brackish weeds
of distrust,

BACKFLOAT
when rest is required,
as sleep is not included
in the price of instruction.

Corinne, I've been at the bottom of this pool for a long time,
can't swim, but I called out for a lifeguard once and well,
let's just say that was a wise move

Enjoyed.

This brings back so many memories, so I thank you for sharing some things I had not forgotten, but had simply tucked away into drawers of recall, just waiting to be opened...

Always had trouble with the breaststroke myself...but I'm working on it!

Congrats on 3500, Corinne!

A fine poet can so evolve thought from the reader.  You have certainly done this so very well to me.  I was born and raised in a city.  Thank You for some distant scenes of life.  Roger

Congratulations on you 3500th. I just made my 100th today and I've been here a week. Guess that means I have at least 34 weeks to go, although I'm not sure I can keep up this pace.

As far as swimming goes I'm too lazy to breast stroke, so I mainly dog paddle.
