I hear your newborn cry
and it fills my soul with joy
I'd thought I'd wanted a daughter
but I love this new little boy

chubby little feet
full head of dark hair
big bright eyes, already brimming
with a little boy's mischievious stare

"looks just like his mom", they all say
and I cannot disagree
for when looking at you, my dear lttle son
my childhood self, looks back at me

your innocence fills my heart with love
and fills my eyes with tears
this moment, I'll remember
through all my living years

later, as you sleep in my arms
both of us in sweet repose
looking again at your precious face
I see your father's eyes, and yes
you have his nose

Madame Chipmunk,
You use to be the Princess of Quite Alot but now you are the Queen of Graphics.  Delightful poem and nicely illustrated.

Floria...thanks for your reply.  I would say that you are quite a lucky lady...
Have you written many poems about those wonderful children?  If so, please post some, I would love to see them.

Thank you, Noah...but Victor is already grown up.  He is a lawyer in NYC, at a very large law firm.....but he's still my baby, and always will be!
He's always been a good kid!

Thanks Kay, isn't it amazing how fast the time flies.  This feels like yesterday, but it was almost 27 yrs ago.

It is comforting to know you both share the same space.  Happy New Year David.  Was missing her tonight and felt like a good read.
