A Long Overdue Ballad For - And About - Miss Nancy (With a wink to the Doc)

One sunny day Miss Nancy Ness escaped our good old 'Stute.
She took the van - inside our tent - and thought it was real cute,
To change her personality into Miss GypsiNess.
And catch a glimpse of life's 'normalities' and craziness.

She took a trip to meet with Liz Santos and "shy" Denise,
And managed to act sane for once - the ladies were quite pleased.
"It's going swell," Miss Nancy thought, while she said her goodbyes,
"Next stop will be the Wizard's place - he loves a good surprise."

She slept along the way and dreamed of magic games of chess,
And had a screaming nightmare where she'd lost the Wiz's address.
Although she tried her very best, Miss GypsiNess could not,
Resist to write some poetry - which almost got her caught!

While thinking she was safely watching grass grow with the Wiz,
The Justin Clan found crumbs of poetry to solve this quiz,
And secretly they sneaked upon the tent at day's first light,
To find Miss GypsiNess had disappeared that very night!

"You're Justin Sayne to run away, it's Justine Uff you hear!
We did not travel every road to see you disappear,
And Justin Kace you didn't know, you're Miss Behaving' too!
We'll hunt you down, search every town and make you write Haiku!"

Miss GypsiNess - oh what a gal! - took off without excuse,
Her meeting place: Bewilderment! To visit Doctor Moose.
"I've got just what you need my friend, it ain't no Ballad-dear,
nor Haiku, just a jacket strait; you really need not fear."

"But doctor Moose," Miss Nancy cried, "For once just hear me out,
These so called personalities are not what I'm about.
For I'm a Mom, a teacher, grandma and a poetess
And most days of the year I need to be just Nancy Ness."

"Bewilderment is what I know, but now I am confused,"
Then suddenly his antlers shook and Doc seemed quite amused.
"I know the answer, yes I do, the perfect therapy!
I'll ask the Wizard for a workshop - teaching poetry!"

So you can play and stay insane; take trips so now and then,
And if you're good I'll even let you borrow the 'Stute van,
But only if you promise to return once in a while,
For nuts you are for life - the 'Stute your home - your true profile."

"What an idea! You've got a deal! I'll stay a 'Stutee too,
And when you come and visit me I'll even write Haiku!"
So there you go and now you know why Nancy runs the Shop
Of Poetry - she plays in - and the Doc gets A's non-stop!

Long overdue indeed.  The poetry police were about to call you up on this ticket and make you pay the full fine, but you did it, and justin kase anyone's looking, I'm hiding the evidence now...

Brave enough to enter lunacy?
Our home away from home.

Dear Justin Genious, you've implied Miss Nan's a little daft
a move akin to white wat'rin' without a bleepin' raft!
Most surely you are much confused , there's no way this could be.
E. Fudd please take the stand and give us your testimony.

" I sweah to tell the twuth and nothin' but, so help me Doc.
Miss Nan our fearwess weader's never had ewectwo-shock.
It's twue sometimes she twavels and might even use the van,
but usualwy just to escape that scwewwy Justin Cwan !"

Your witness counselor Genious, oh, you have no questions yet?
Defense calls for dismissal on the grounds that you're all wet!
Your story has more holes in it than I've got in my head.
" Justin Kayce dismissed and Justin Thyme "
the judge, he said.

" But as for you Doc Moose, I'm going to hold you in contempt.
These stupid rhymes of yours' do not (from law) make you exempt.
You're here-by banished to Bewilderment eternally,
your crime ( of course ) is writing such atrocious poetry!"

I loved this... bundles of smiles marching along in perfect rhyme and cadence. *S*

Of course, my first thought on reading the line "And catch a glimpse of life's 'normalities' and craziness." was... she's going to have a well-rounded vacation... visiting Elizabeth Santos and Balladeer??? tee hee hee hee

Ahum Doc... there may be more 'Stute in our Miss Nan than you could possibly imagine. Come to think of it, I believe she accidentally (?) discovered the pleasure of electro-shock... no wonder Justin Genious thinks the world of her.

Hehe, you got me there brother!

Thank you Miss Nancy for being such a sport. You're the best!

See you around Doc and my apologies for the "abuse", but then... I was only returning the favour.

To all of you wonderful poets: I thank you from the deepest of my Justin heart.

On to the next ballad. Hmm, I wonder who could be my next "victim"...
