In Your Poetic Mind

0 posted 2002-01-08 04:02 PM

In my hands I hold rain
Branches of time
Flower petals
Harmony stirring
Unreachable in remembrance

In fall the vineyards create
Color, different scenes
Of vibrant strokes
In raspberry fields

The night air kisses
The early dew
Wavering the particles
That collide in the breeze

I have loved beauty
I have lived in April’s
Shadow of light

When winter arrives
We forget to place
Flowers in the vase,
Youth is precious,
Time means nothing
Like the fireflies
Of October

I have not rested
Soundly in 10 years
Freedom is the release
Of life and paradise
Does not exist,
Still we believe in faith
And look for meaning
A purpose for memory

And you wonder why I cry
When we touch

Tomorrow's another day
and I'm thirsty any way
so bring on the rain

Greeneyes - this writing touched me very deeply. I replied to your verse below. I hope that you don't mind...

BC

'I have not rested
Soundly in 10 years
Freedom is the release
Of life and paradise
Does not exist,
Still we believe in faith
And look for meaning
A purpose for memory

And you wonder why I cry
When we touch'

"Peace is my rest,
Serenity my dream
Many years has it been
I know not if they exist
But still I search
For a purpose

And I wonder why I cry
Deep inside"

I hold in my hand the rain ...
pouring from your word,
nurturing, refreshing, gained ...
memories absurd.
But with each in their right place ...
smiles to my face.
Ashes read and well heard.

Your memories are touching, be well ... Peace

Oh those closing lines just go thru me...
this is such an honest, lovely write of exploration and imagery...
your spirit is in every sincere word...
which is why I adore your poetry so...and am so drawn to it.

I ask why you come here, you say just because
Could I live without it if I knew what it was
But it really dont matter when you look at me that way.

Greeneyes~ This is an outstanding piece of poetry.  My favorite image would have to be: "Youth is precious,
      Time means nothing
         Like the fireflies
Of October" --Beautiful, and filled with such a poignant wisdom.  I also loved the last two lines, an incredible end to your river of words.  Incredible work!

The thoughts reflected here are so full of vivid imagery, as is all of your
poetry.  It is a visual feast to read.  I don't know, it's hard to describe how
I felt when I got to the last line, it was as if the person were speaking to me
directly, it just "fit" you know?  Maybe I just haven't read anything like this
in a long time, that moved me the way that it did.  Thank you.....
