Little Bunny Flu Flu
Had a fever and goose bump chills
She never got to go to school
She had so many ills

Mama took her temperature
Said, “Get yourself in bed.
I’ll go get you an icepack
We’ll put it on your head.”

“But Mama, I’m already cold.”
Mama said, “Your fever must come down
Just do as you're are told.”
So Bunny Flu Flu hid her frown

The fever went down, chills went away
“Bunny, you can get out of bed today.”
“Oh, Thank you Mama, I feel better.”
Then Mama saw spots, they were getting redder

“Oh Flu Flu, I think you have the measles.
You just can’t go to that party with the weasels.”
Bunny Flu Flu was oh so sad
Mama said I’ll find a way to make her glad

When the itchy spots went away
Mama planned a wonderful day
All Bunny’s friends came over to play
The weasels, squirrel and possum too
But Flu Flu didn’t know what to do

She had been sick in bed so much
She was afraid to run, play and such
“Come on, Bunny, Give the ball a good kick.
Playing’s what we’re s’posed to do, you won’t get sick.”

So Bunny Flu Flu laughed and played
And she didn’t get sick at all
Then the grandest idea that day was made
She would get a new book bag to start school in the fall.

This is a great story you have created here.  It was funny and admireable, to have a mother such as she had.  Nice work Cheryl!

Cheryl, these are so adorable, I think you should make them into a children's book of poetry.

Lyra, I'm hoping to publish these story-poems in the future. The question is how to go about it. I do have the idea posted on a website for publishers to view. So who knows?Maybe one day someone will run with the idea. Thanks so much for reading. Cheryl
