The poet has said for many a day
That time is a thief who steals hours away
And takes the blush from the cheek
The sparkle from the eye
A little of all as it passes by

Time takes the bright luster from the hair
Steals the gold, but leaves silver there
Gone hearty laughter, the youthful sounds
But when I think of my blessings
Great joy abounds

A springy step isn't there to see
Time exchanged it for poise and dignity
Where once I ran, now I walk
My best performances
Are only talk

Time gives one vision of yester year
Hard to recall without a tear
Temporal were the things time took from me
I've had so many joys
And paid a very small fee......

(smiles) So well said, sweet friend, tie indeed passes us by, but as long as we capture each moment with a smile, time can never play tricks on us and we will find joy in each and every day! (big hugggsssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, it's so great to see you again, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Toerag, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

And don't forget you always forget,
But it saves you from remembering regret.

Toerag, I enjoyed this. Hopefully time will always be on our side. Chris

This is fantastic, Toe... insightful, thought provoking, well written... and absolutely lovely. I think we've all paid a fee... some more than others. *S* But when I count my blessings, your name is always at the very top of the list. *S*

If you will enjoy the silvr'd hair
the pause in step of wary care
then I shall meet you atop the hill
for the sun is fine, and warming, still

Dear Toerag, heard so much about you from our Balladeer
I'm real glad for the opportunity of meeting you here
I love your poem but let me give you some advice sweet man
When time is coming to visit you just ran away as hard as you can

I've rushed through life in such a hurry?
I find it is too late to worry!
There's nothing left to be but ME..
Free at last...finally, free...

Thanks Toe!

I just about choked on this title, Mr.Toe...
having just had an argument with my 87 year old mother who is complaining that she is old.
I tell her that she is lucky to be so old and to live long enough to see great grandchildren...and all she does is complain about how old she is...

She doesn't know I am sick...She lives in Florida and I think she's too frail and I don't want to worry her, but it almost slips out when I tell her that my goal in life is to get as old as she is.

This is an absolutely wonderful poem, Mr.Toe and so I am going to give it a bump.

~ old hugs
