Another Place, Another Time From the moment I first saw you I knew we were meant to be For as you walked away A sparkling copper penny stood your place As I touched the penny My soul entered another realm A waking dream had come upon me An instantaneous drifting Into your world I now see you across the distant lake Dressed in the nighttime air My piercing glare gently nudges your heart Making you aware of my presence As our eyes make contact The lake creates a misty bridge That leads me to where you stand My feet float as if made of wings In a rush to embrace your outstretched arms But the hands of fate are cruel indeed And dreams are just that As you fade into the darkness Leaving me alone under the stars With my unfulfilled wish A cooper penny And the quiet whispers of time Marcel |
