Running for the shelter of finger laced pines, soft, bare feet carry me over damp sand. It seeps up - oozing between my toes - much like my past still slithers behind me. Drops splatter down from a charcoal sky …unnoticed… saltiness mingling with the rain that falls from my golden eyes. I quicken my pace in breathless escape until the pain in my chest forces me to fall, exhausted. Tears stream, mixing with the dank smell of wet earth. I close my eyes as rain and cold sting my face, but it feels good…it feels real… in a world full of lies and threats…it is simple. My spine shivers as I sit up, taking thick air into my lungs. It is heavy (like my heart) but I know that when the sun breaks these dismal skies, there will be light. I pick myself up, dusting off bits of sand and dirt. I lay my head back letting the rain pelt my face, cleansing away tears...cleansing my soul Resisting an urge to fall upon weakened knees, I turn again toward the pines. Walking slowly this time, breathing in the acrid scent - Anguish is replaced by a perpetual longing for you. Fear is overridden by an eternal need. Fallen needles cushion numb feet as I enter the heart of the woods. I stand perfectly still… I open my heart… I free my mind … and I release my soul. I find comfort in you, within myself, here, in this place, because we are one. -Heather I do not seek...I find! |

*sigh* this poem made me feel as I do when I go to the mountains and feel one with God. Absolutely stunning. I love it. **big hugs**  He will heal your pain. Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams. |
