“IN THE SURF”
by
Bill Charles
~~~~
The surf touches you gently,
over, and over again,
embracing with its motion,
washing away your pain…
In my eyes a sight to behold,
and I offer all apologies,
I can’t help but look at you,
in the gentle breeze…
Hair past your shoulders,
tenderness I see flowing,
eyes soft with charm,
a picture, so admiring…
I look at you standing tall,
not quite a smile on your face,
perhaps I’ll join you,
in the surf, or anyplace…
Bill darling boy This I LOVE, the imagery and the sounds both combine to invoke a beautiful illusion. I can hear the surf, I can see the girl, and I can see you joining her.
Utterly UTTERLY fabulous writing as always
As I said I LOVE IT
Bill,
this was lovely, but not at all what I was expecting...maybe because I read the title as I'm the smurf.  It gives whole new meaning to Freudian slip doesn't it.
