you were my voice of reason
i needed you
to keep me level
enough not to teeter--
not to fall...
i never planned on you...
but you came in and sat down
talked for a while
made yourself at home...
made me love you--
i wasnt supposed to love you....
i love your soul
your heart...
will it feel as right
     to hold you--
my voice of reason
having fallen into my arms...
what then my love...
what then...

Indeed, some poignant feelings in this piece.  I pray this soul cherishes yours
and never harms it in any way.

I agree with Kathleen, sounds like you've fallen into a dangerous trap here.  I hope happiness finds you both and is not damaged by too much pain.

Nicely written.

Even the voice of reason knows sometimes you just have to jump into the dark waters to find out if you can swim. Just keep the shore near by or take a life preserver with you.
The soul and the heart will be there even if you can't love the man.
