Dawning Light

I’m sitting here watching the stars fade away
Watching the birth of another beautiful day
In the half-light I trace your face with my eyes
And breathe in your softly whispering sighs
I wonder if I’ll ever get used to loving you
Or will I always feel awed by a love that’s true
There’s no sound from outside, the world lies still
Lying here with you all my dreams I fulfil

As the morning bids farewell to the night
And the sky is washed by dawn’s softest light
I breathe deep to inhale the scent of your skin
Trying to imprint your aroma here within
I want to capture it, and hold it inside me
So I can conjure up the taste of you truly
Just something to get me through my day
Until I can again lie with you this way

There’s no sound even the birds are asleep
And this precious moment is just mine to keep
There’s no sun yet it hasn’t graced the skies
And no one is awake to hear my sighs
As I caress your mouth with my fingertips
Before placing butterfly kisses on your lips
This dawn is ours, please awake and love me
And we'll start our day loving passionately

So softly you have portrayed the heart in its simplest, intimacy... ::sigh::

Lovely work, darlin' girl!!!

"Lying here with you all my dreams I fulfil"

Marsha - Really good.  The last stanza was great, especially starting your morning off with a little passion.  Hey, that is probably why I am not a morning person, I don't get enough passion when I awake.  All that I get is the sound of my alarm clock.:bawling

One thing, in the first stanza, the second line to the last, I think it might work better if you have a comma between "outside and "the world."  Just a tiny suggestion.

Pepper darling girl thank you so much

I knew YOU would understand, it is exactly like that. Trying to hold on to those special moments.

Take care of you because YOU are a poet of superior emotions. YOU are a wonderful writer
