I am not an elevator Although my mood goes up and down Sometimes quite the manic prater And times I wear the largest frown The rumour spreads throughout the town I'm elevating up and down. I am not a tale narrator Though I can talk legs off a chair And it's not an indicator When I still talk to no one there Don't let them say that I do this And stop my talking with a kiss I am not an undertaker Although my face fills friends with gloom And I get the "see you later" When I commence to speak of doom Don't believe a word they're saying I'm not gloomy I'm just playing I am not a speculator Speculation is not my game I am just a sweet potata Always I'm me and still the same Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Keth darling sister of my heart no darling girl you are not an elevator, you're an angel. Wonderful writing as always and yes darling girl it made me smile, .... only another 363 happy poems to go and your penance is done. Oh didn't I tell you, since you are my darling sister of heart you get the harshest penance. I was almost sure I'd mentioned it (wicked grin) I'm just doing what Gillbert and Sullivan suggested darling girl, I'm letting the punnishment fit the crime. Keth Of course you're not an elevator, Though you've buttons for Up and Down. Such that a crafty manipulator Can make you smile or frown. Of course you're not an elevator, Though its known that once in awhile, Your 'buttons' are a rejuvenator, When it's not been easy for us to smile. Thanks everyone. For those interested and for those who are not...This one came to me from two things ...the film elephant man, you know "I am not an animal" and remembering my son saying "when I grow up I want to be an ambulance" Hence the combination of the animate and inanimate. Noah, you are so sweet...thanks Deer, anytime I can give you a lift...my car is at your service, although if you push my buttons while driving me on who knows what will happen? serenety, Thanks for the charming...I am weighed down by lucky charms, it's nice you could pick it. Larry, Please don't believe all you have heard though your praises ring Oh my word! I am not so humourous I am quite the silly puss Its just I'm challenged being here in fact I'm always 'challenged' dear Marsha my love has made a threat so I must write until I sweat. Enchantress, It's a good thing you like me like this...for I find it difficult to change anything except my underwear. Madame Chipmunk, I bows to the master of verse...or in this case the mistress. Irish, that you love my humour says more than words. Thank you dear lady. AWC, what did you expect? thank you. Victoria, you gotta love me...just don't nibble on me. Marsha, I am not an angel, although I've had hours when I'm flying. *HuGS* peppermint35, yep I'm a gauntlet -picker-upperer from way back, theres somthing about the way those mesh gloves ring a chord in my brain. And the lift...its the elevator shoes. GenXer...If you go to the discussions section of this forum you will find many delights...not the least of which is a challenge forum, which is wehre I go when I need some inspiration and poetic words are not doing it.
