I've known love through many a day
Bright as the evening star
Yet love grows cold come what may
When loves comes from afar

The day begins as all days do
Dawn brings in her light
Across the ocean my love true
Faces break of night

Not synchronised in life or love
As time moves at it's pace
Can only pray to sky above
To see my lover's face

Love grows cold while far apart
And warmth of friendship dies
It cannot hold the wandering heart
When distance all decries

Distant time and distant space
Can call you out to try
Yet without the touch of grace
Love must surely die

In the night a distant hand
Can still the fears and then
Borders lost from land to land
Can help you try again

I've known love on many a day
From many a distant land
Distant love can never stay
Fleeting love is damned

Yet the warmth of fires away
Can still spark the heart
For them then, I watch and pray
While love is far apart.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Kethry, I felt this. Being on the other side of the world to someone you love is hard, even if they are a friend not a lover.

Oh yes, this is a common problem for many, Long Distance Love can rarely work. But there is always that one chance. Must be what keeps us all going..Very well done, Kethry.

Keth darling sister of my heart, Oh ye of little faith. Distance can work, you just need to work on it a little.

Wonderful writing darling girl as always, now tell me and tell me true what does distance mean to you? I feel an inspire coming on?

YOU know I love this don't you? of course you do, do I need to add that it is utterly utterly fabulous

Love and warm stuff
As always

yes Kethry many that are in Internet relationships will relate to this , those far apart , wanting to remain  heart to heart . Its got to be much more than lust
love  can only grow with faith and trust

Keth,
Uncle Bob always said "absence makes the heart grow fonder...of someone else"! Guess he was right.

*sigh* a gentle despair fills your words giving the feeling of gently falling tears. *sigh* it is true...distant love needs to have the close physical touch to bring it all together. Words can touch the heart and soul but there is nothing like being able to look into the eyes of the one you love and see the truth of love reflected back at you. My heart goes out to any who have loved at a distance. It is the hardest kind of love to make survive. **big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Beautifully sensitive words, Keth...
You can make this work...if this is about you.
David and I met thru an internet dating service and now we are married.
Good luck!

I simply loved this piece Kethry.  I enjoyed the pace, the flow, the images and the sentiment.  It is an excellent post.

Cheers!
