Like the ocean on the beach
The emptiness erodes my soul
My existence
Mere echoes of my mind
I want to cry out
But I stifle the moans
I hold back the cascade of tears
The darkness closes in
I search for a light
But I find only emptiness
And in the silence I realize
I hold back my tears for no one

Sad, yet very powerful emotions here.  Nicely expressed.

Thank you all so much for your response.  I didn't know if people would like it.  It was based upon a thought that I had one night.  I realized that I held back my tears when no one was there.  Thanks for the positive response.
