darkness surrounds me
eternal night filling my existence
only knowning heartache and sorrow
my heart hardened by the bitter night
but then suddenly, without warning
a spark is felt deep within my very being
slowly growing, a fire burning bright
my heart soon fills with warmth and happiness
shackles of guilt slowly break free
I gaze in wonderment and awe,
as light slowly begins to seep into my life
with each passing moment
darkness is swept away from existence
now surrounded by this heavenly light
I can only bask in its beauty
my heart now brimming with hope and joy
as a lone being slowly comes into view
a heavenly creature beyond comparisson
an angel... with loving eyes and a gentle smile
she reaches out to me, touching my cheek
as a smile curled my lips
I look up to see her loving smile once more
to thank her for such a wonderful gift
the gift of knowing happiness unfelt
to know the joy of the dawn
whispering softly, as I kiss her cheek
my angel of mercy, I thank you with all of my heart
how can I repay you for this gift
with a gentle embrace, she utters
knowing of your happiness is thanks enough
she has saved me from my personal hell
and gave my heart wings to fly
my beautiful angel... my true friend

This was perfect......just what i was looking for to share with a friend. I have had this very experience....and my angel....has no idea how much she has enriched my life. maybe this will let her know how much i adore her. Beautiful write.Thank you
