The light shining in your eyes
Reveals the brightest shade of blue
How many times we've walked these sands
Arm in arm just me and you

Two lovers by the seashore
Who have thrown caution to the wind
Within each others hearts is where
Our hopes and dreams are pinned

You hold my hands so delicately
As our fingers interlace
Then you move your lips to mine
And kiss me tenderly on the face

Using an old piece of driftwood
We trace a heart here in the sand
As the warming Summer's breeze
Makes its way across the land

You whisper the words 'I love you'
As we gaze on out to sea
Within the safety of your loving arms
Is where I'll always want to be

'tho the tide will soon erase
Our footprints in the sand
My love for you grows stronger
As our hearts now take command

The light of the day is now fading
As the gulls fly towards the sun
Under the light of the silvery moon
Is where our two hearts will become one

Suetang, I love this verse.
"'tho the tide will soon erase
Our footprints in the sand
My love for you grows stronger
As our hearts now take command"
It just seems to say it all. floria

EXCELLENT POEM, SUETANG!!!!  Your rhyme scheme and your wonderfully lyrical poetic language make this poem great.   ***Ivy Rose

Reminded me of the time when me and my girlfriend were walking on the beach late at night and we watched a large metal bouy wash onto shore...we rolled it onto the sand and wrote love letters all over it...James
