it’s as if
the morning
whispers to awakening
quieted
made serene
by the heavy mist
that brushes it
to a softness
unexplainable

only that which is close
has a sharpness
of contrast
giving a longing
to this soul
to seek
the distance
where loneliness is dulled
hope more possible
tenderness gently evident

as if textured
with cottony clouds

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Virginia, you have given this an ethereal feel, and it is quite a comforting read...thank you...

There is a lofty feel to this, I would add something to the last two lines though that
seem alone to me..that's just a thought. In other words if you were to complete your thought as to what is as if...in the last bit those lines would stand more complete

Virginia, this is lovely.  I don't understand why you don't have more replies.....it's a beautiful poem

My perception of truth will somehow never quite be the same..and so I write.
