In the space between moments

*My muse and I have been lying low for a while, so there are a quite a few of you here I don't know.Hello to you all, I'm Krista. Unicorns have been a love affair of mine since I was a little girl.I have written several pieces about them, but felt the need to come back to them. Thus the title, "The Unicorn, Revisted".*

Lucid silhouettes unite...
Beauty--and beast--possessing
~One Soul~
A rebirth of a shining moment
Casts sweet shimmers
To open the shadows
Of a long-remembered dream.

The moonlight falls in petals
Through netted clouds
And onto shapely curves
As she gazes upon him
~Enraptured~
By silver-threaded mane
And jeweled eyes.

Evening gathers itself
In cool folds around them
As he casts mellifluous whispers
Deep into her...

She closes her eyes
And allows the pause of time
To possess them both...
And for a second (and an eternity)
They own each other’s souls...

Startled from dreams
She finds him departed...
With nothing remaining
But hoof-prints upon the earth
And a sparkle somewhere beyond
The glow of dawn’s horizon.

Then, with a tear and a sigh
She softly speaks:
“I am you...and you are I...
And our spirits are forever bound
By the one true light....
Love.”

Yes! You describe a unicorn like I never could, breathing into it such grace, beauty and strength until in my mind it glows hallowed. Such power and magic you've woven here in paused moments, an eternal second and eternally bound souls.

“I am you...and you are I...
And our spirits are forever bound
By the one true light....
Love.”

Wondrous and beautiful, my dear, I hope your muse speaks more often, the product is beyond compare
