Arms outstretched I gave you
A rose not asking for forgiveness
For I had done nothing to hurt you
A flower from within a soul's sadness

You let the rose fall at your feet
Only giving it a glance, emotionless
I came to you broken hearted
You walked away from me, remorseless

The rose sits in a vase nearby the mirror
Reflections of times we shared, I remember
If again you wander this way, the door is wider
And water will retain the red of the rose forever

Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love
(Daniel J D)

Loved your writing.. it really touched my soul...  how sweetly persistent the emotion that just won't let you give up all hope...

I reflected on timing in relationships when reading this piece.  Often in relationships we reach places at different times.  It is what keeps us entranced (sp?).  I can see one person loving more than another, the other maybe feeling angry and walking away.  It all boils down to poor communication, doesn't it?

Good write!

Daniel J D...Powerful burst of emotion emanating from this poem.  A Rose such a romantic gesture...but, in this poem, tinged with such sadness.  ***Ivy Rose
