HEAVY HEART

So lyric is a garden’s song, poetic lullaby
That brushes dust on petal’s gown and wing of butterfly
The fragile rose unfolds its tender heart through poet’s pen
Unleashing to the waiting eye, its beauty once again

I cannot write a verse today, for sorrow fills my heart
So difficult the words to find that truly would impart
The grief that still remains within the depth of petal’s fold
I cannot find the words to tell of sorrow that they hold

A verse would not be adequate to paint the true and real
My trembling hands unable to inscribe just how I feel
Too pale are words to sketch a colored portrait of my days
Too heavy is my heart to be the burden of a phrase

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Elizabeth, I can feel your tears through your words, it's OK, we're all here for you! (sigh) Write out your tears if you must, for we are all here for you to help you, for you are a true angel and we all love you so so much! (kiss on cheek) Our hearts all cry out to you, sweet friend! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Elizabeth, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

I don't have the words to say how much this moved me.  Just don't have the words....

My perception of truth will somehow never quite be the same..and so I write.

To say this is wonderful is like saying light travels at a fair rate of speed.. this is fantastic Liz-- one of your best.

Aye, yes, there are those times that words just aren't enough, but the words you did put down, Liz, are a beauty to behold. Wish I had just a part of your gift...very gentle smile

You know elizabeth, i think you are absolutely correct. Words more often than not get me nowhere when I'm really trying to convey my deepest feelings. There almost just like little landmarks we place in this black void of uncertainty, not necessarily in the right place at all, but they can also be very beautiful, as this rhyme has been for me.

Just a few days ago, I was telling someone how the things that effect me most deeply are the ones hardest to write about... whether sorrow and grief or excitement or joy... my words are at best a black pencil trying to depict a riot of color.

But if anyone can capture emotion and convey feelings, it is you... and you have done so once again with this beauty. "Too heavy is my heart to be the burden of a phrase"... and yet you share this eloquent gift of heart. Beautiful!

This is as close to a description as one could bear to read, and not fall apart in doing so.  Do you remember the poem I did of you at your desk?  I think it is time for a repeat, for this brought that image back to my mind so very well...

yes, I think it's time to do that again...

oh but you did find the words dear poetess...
and they are sheer poetry in motion.
Its become cliche' to say our words wont do justice..but mine cant touch the depth of expression or the impression this one makes on me.
I will place this in my treasure chest...and share it with someone who adores your poetry.

Your words touch and move Liz.  Even in sorrow your words touch.  We are blessed to share you in poetry.  Thank you.

And this is why I read your poems every day, as they are perfection dear lady, perfection.  This is heart-wrenching, and goes right to the very core of internal pain.  To feel this deeply takes a loving soul that will indeed see the light once more in their strength for survival and quest for peace of mind, body and heart.  A hug for this hurting seems hardly enough, but know there are friends to hold you safe, and care.

It touched me deeply; those words seem totally and completely inadequate.

Sending you a candle, Elizabeth..

Liz:  I have heard and know from experience, that when poetry is written, the words come from the heart. Your heart seems very heavy and I hope you feel better now that you have written your feelings down in poetry.  Very nicely done.

"The grief that still remains within the depth of petal’s fold
I cannot find the words to tell of sorrow that they hold" -- I absolutely loved those lines, Elizabeth.  Poignant and sad, I know the feeling when words are too feeble and weak to paint the picture of your pain.  Sending love and friendship to you, I hope you are well.

*sigh* oh gosh this poem touches the heart and says volumns to me......I do not write when I am down and if I do I get lost in words of fantasy rather then let myself and others see much of what I am feeling.....This poem tells how heavy the heart is better than any I could ever compose. Magnificent. **big hugs** My heart goes out to you, dear one.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.
