A fair lady has brought me to your court
I come form another planet of sorts;
seasoned in idiomatic expressions, imagery and puns,
experienced in tieing up words so their messages come undone.

I stand before you, my sword laid down at your feet
'tis the way strangers from unknown lands call to speak
my ear, 'lest that be cut from my head by heathen swords
hears of tidings of constructive criticism to look toward.

I kneel, an eager servant known at other poetic peaks
as a defender of the weak and sympathizer of the meek,
given this brief period that I can slay dragons and work your deeds.
allow me at this fair site, to instill courage to your countrymen in need.

This....this is wonderful.

My perception of truth will somehow never quite be the same..and so I write.

interesting.
My sword is for the poets, and all who read know it,
This sword I grasp in my sweating hand,
Is my beloved, shining, clicking pen.
After the battle is over I shall smile,
For I know I have scored victory for a while.

Love is God. Love is war. Love is what your life is for.

Martin,
Chivalrous and stunning...but what about me. I'm a lady, I am!

Yes of course Keth, you are and stunning too.
I ought to be inspired to write, by more than one lady? OK. I'll bite on that!

Martin, Thanks for allowing me to be the inspiration for this poem...and quite a beautiful poem it is, indeed!
Extremely well written.

Thanking you also for venting your point of view on certain political issues during the day..I would do the same. I can only speak
for myself but I believe we are both happy to be aboard this site where we can think with our hearts too!

a nice expression of gratitude done with a near "southern gentlemanly" flair.

Thankyou Jamie,

Southern gentlemanly flair or Shakespearean
twist, as I see it...I am deeply indebted
for the inspiration she brings.

Lay down your sword and pick up that pen... I'm convinced there's more!
Wonderful poem.
