The Day Will Come

There will come a day when swallows sing again for me
I’ll be waiting there beside the green of Hemlock tree
And sit with yellow meadow in my haven softly spread
Within a fence of piled stone that holds a daisy bed

There will come a time for me to walk the measured mile
To this retreat surrounded by the woodland’s fragrant wild
For this is where a dreamer goes to contemplate the worth
Of sights and sounds of wildlife and richness of the earth

I will know the time that’s right for me to dream again
A swallow will be beckoning for me to take my pen
And write of some imagined place that dwells inside my mind
Of yellow petals dancing in the peacefulness that’s mine

For now, my heart is heavy with the burdens life can bring
In time I know there’ll come a day to hear the swallows sing

your happiness guaranteed
we accept no less
your poetry is well read

I can envision this so well, Lady Santos.  Indeed, the swallows will tell you when it is time again to write, and while you wait for that time, allow yourself a sweet dream or two to tide you over...

To me there is no between the lines in this.
Your abilities have stated well the end of bliss. And I've know for some time how your thoughts have run and you dwell to much upon the things that you have done.
You are the gentlest and sweetest person that I have ever known. And you occupy a special zone for only me alone. Love Sy

Elizabeth,
That day will come for you, and of that I am sure.
I'm not able to spend alot of time at Passions, but reading your poetry is always so pleasant. I love the imagery as well as the words.

Hugs,
Deb

Anyone who can write like this deserves to always sit under a blue sky full of song, and know their own worth.  In the short time I have been here, I've learned quite a bit from your poetry and it is always beautiful. This is another one to put in my library.
Take care,
Carrie

I hope that time comes soon, dear lady... for the both of us. *S* (Right now, I'm refusing them access to my thinking. *S*)

I love the faith you've painted... that better times will come, that light will again prevail. This is flawless... and fantastic!

I have no doubt it will. Wonderful and positive writing

Lovely, lovely, lovely!  Filled with hope and the meter is captivating/uplifting! Very fitting for the message.

Liz,
That day will come,
Let's hope it's soon.
Maybe under the sun,
But possibly under the moon.

Of this there is no doubt,
No one deserves it more.
But until that time arrives,
Liz, it's you we all adore!

Glad you know better days are coming! A lovely write indeed.

Absolutely beautiful and hopeful Liz, and by the way, it was really "tweet" too   That day will indeed come and I hope I am there when it happens, we can run barefoot through the fields hooting and hollaring!  What do you say?
