Loving someone...

Loving someone is not about poems that wrench into a heart.
Taking that person through months of written tenderness, false hope.
Never calling to say hello in a personal way, without mystery.
Letting it all hang there....address unknown..

It is not about beautiful romantic words on a blue screen.
It is about faces, voices, tenderness and contact.
It is not about sudden disappearances without goodbyes....
Or untimely re-emergence as though all is just peachy keen.

It is about truth and love, never failing to say...I am here.
Never leaving without personally saying goodbye.

It is not about being somewhere else, waving a poem, waiting to see.
It is about going to where the heart lies, being personal...

True love is not flowery words, poems without faces....
True love is the voice that speaks....the eyes that are seen...For the eyes don't tell lies...words do.

Good Lord in Heaven, you have blown me away.

That's all I can say right now...blown completely away with this one.

I'm blown away as well! There is so much truth in this poem. Loving someone with all your heart requires honesty, understanding, committment, all the things you've mentioned!
I LOVE this one. must save it to my library.

Rose Petal...to answer your question from
my other poem....Barry is my name...And you
may use it all you want...

I wrote this about love...about how some
use flowery words to give love that is not
true...is deceptive...and very hurtful...

thanx..

Well done Barry. You truly speak of what love is here..and what it is not. Such a sad story of your friend, and, I fear, one that happens far too often.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Michael,  my friend...and I mean that...

I write with feelings...and sometimes I just
have to say it like I see it...And sadly,
what I have seen hurts....because I have
seen what it has done to someone I respect
and care about...That puts it on a personal
level with me...Mess with my friends...and
you mess with me...

Just the way I am...Thanx 'deer...

Tracey...I agree...and I know that I write
things that a lot of ladies simply adore...
But I won't ever try to make any one of them
or you feel that I am giving those words to
any person at PiP...I have a lady in my life.
Been married to her 32 years...and I will
give them to her with sincerity...

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Mr. "M": I can't seem to say any more than what others have said.  Excellent and there have been many that have been taken down the wrong path and have really gotten hurt.  You are absolutely correct.
