The moon casts a soft shadow upon the land.
Distant fireflies twinkle beneath countless stars.
Couples walk side by side, bound by warm hand.
Looking into the heavens, in search of Mars.

A distant light, twinkling bright...a silver sheen.
Shining into the eyes of two fallen madly in love.
Like Garbo, Gable, Bogey, McCall on screen.
Two silhouetted by the stars shimmering above.

Minds filled with softness of the still clear night.
Lungs savoring freshest air, honeysuckles and dew.
Guided toward passion from a moon’s softest light.
Two shadows become one as love grows anew.

Timeless moments carried down through centuries.
Of Gods, Goddesses, Gladiators and sculpted art.
A yellow rose blooms to give hope and appease
the sadness of loss, lonely songs of the heart.

No longer are the days of the caveman’s duress.
Gone are the moments of the chivalrous knight.
Love’s whispers between two souls caress
as a lover’s moon escapes early morning light.

(sigh) Sooooooooo beautiful, sweet friend, may each red rose resemble each true sweetheart and may each yellow rose bring hope to every destined lover. (sigh) I love it, sweet friend, you are sooooooo romantic! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Your words are like the magic moments upon a silver screen. Soft, romantic phrasing adds power and passion to this poem.  **Ivy Rose

Joanna....B A R R Y....tis the name of
this man that slays dragons of old.
Wearing a shield of tarnished metal
and sword of shining steel...

This one is so peacefully romantic. A place to aspire to, I believe.
