Susie Q
By: Noah Eaton
1/2/02

She stares out the rose window of her domain
A concierge serving both destiny and fate
She longs just to walk on the seashore
To dance out on the balcony and feel adored

She's just another daguerreotype planted on the cold wall
Alone in her thoughts, longing to take the free fall
She says she's just a merganser in swan lake
Look up to the sun, child, for your dreams have not been delayed

Susie Q
You will have it all
Susie Q
You will be the queen at the ball

She says she can feel her regrets encroach
She's just a passible spirit yearning to raise a toast
Constantly falling to her knees, praying to Jesus
For love to come her way, while she's reluctant and anxious

She talks to angels as she stares at her face in the mirror
Spending her time strumming away at her desires dulcimer
Fear not, dear one, He will never forget anyone
You will be your prince's prom queen, you will be rich in love

Susie Q
You will have it all
Susie Q
You will be the queen at the ball

Slip on your ruby slippers
Open your pretty crystal eyes
Slip those stockings on
Show them how special you are, make a sweet suprise
Adorn yourself in your silk dress
Braid your hair in flowers
Smack on some lipstick
You have the love, let it shower

Susie Q
Look at you
Susie Q
You look so cute
Susie Q
Follow your dreams and you will go far
Susie Q
You are a star

May you forever play in delight your hearts lute
Show your smile to the world, have a happy lifetime honeymoon...

Hello Noah
I should tell you that a lot of my friends call me Susie Q, so I just had to read this one and I'm so glad I did.  It was absolutely breathtaking and reminded me of Cinderella.  Take care......Sue

Yes, BRAVO!
What a cornucopia of images.  You have outdone yourself Noah!

Noah, you have such a way with words!  This poem is excellent. Good work, good work.
