Icy wind etches skin, like a knife
and hair grizzles stiff, graying straight
when youth rusts away sadly fast
wasted lifetimes can crash like a weight

the years of tomorrows turn cartwheels
through a circus of beckoning hands
paintings of tears and of sorrow
putred landscapes of painful demands

age is the math of experience
minus the wisdom of fools
forests of knowledge within us
trees of insight, grown weedy with rules

to share with the seasons of future
avoidence of passion's mistakes
life on the hooks of disaster
the roulette wheel spins fast, in it's wake

great writing-- insightful and delightful

Lyra,
"age is the math of experience
minus the wisdom of fools"

Maybe that is why I feel so young! This is so cerebral...wish I could do that.

well I think you hotter than me by addressing certain unpleasant circumstances around us..that weedy atmosphere here depicts
things quite nicely.."trees of insight within us growing weedy with rules"...sure for the most part we've become slaves to the rules we've created which choke us as we try
to cope with growing unrest in the populous nations.

Lyra - Very good.  I really liked the first and the third stanzas.

By the way, I didn't know you were so good in Math, because if you were you would know dollar for dollar a NY pizza is way better then a MI one.

Now, this is some fine crust around the edges on this one, I mean it.  The words are original and well, I read this several times.
