Dream Weaver’s Lost Lovers

Another night has come where Star
can lose herself within her dreams
and pretend the pain never was
from love she lost somewhere in time

He sits gazing into a fire
that flickers with her memories
and closes his eyes on a dream
trembling at the edge of his mind

Shutting her eyes she sighs
as blocking out the present world
for a place she can drift alone
and not feel the heartache inside

With a deep groan of loneliness
he feels the soft warmth of the fire
embrace him as darkness descends
claiming right to hide memories

Dream Weaver feels the painful beating hearts
of two who from fear of hurt stay apart
afraid to try again in this hard world
where true love is rarely reality

As the vision forms she knows what she’ll do
to bring fantasy and magic alive
in hearts that despair but deserve a chance
to weave magic of love within their souls

She draws on the power of her calling
touching gently two sets of eyes in sleep
and wakes them both to a dreamer’s journey
to a world created for lost lovers

Star opens her eyes with a gasp
and finds herself standing alone
inside a meadow at spring time
underneath stars and full moon

In the meadow is a dragon
reflecting golden in the light
which awaits her patiently
to climb aboard it’s saddled back

Without fear or hesitation
she settles down with perfect ease
and glories to feel the freedom
of soaring through the star filled sky

He opens his eyes to wonder
at the sight of a great dragon
standing in the trees who is black
reflecting silver from starlight

Feeling courage flow in his veins
he settles on this mystic steed
accepting without any thought
that a great adventure awaits

Each soaring high above the earth
to softly land on moonlit beach
and see each others silhouette
upon this distant island sand

Drawn into each others embrace
they gaze into the eyes of love
once thought lost to them for all time
now returned by a dream‘s magic

Upon sun warmed sands they unite
while making their bodies glow bright
passion’s reflected in the sky
from a large comet that streaks by

Dream Weaver smiles one of her secret smiles
as she watches the Lost Lovers unseen
knowing that when from this dream they both wake
they’ll have the will to make this vision true

OH yes....you know that this is a special one
for yourself...Numero 4000....and you did it
up good too...First,  two lovers,  then two
dragons...and of course a Dream Weaver...

And you had to add a beach...

Gee Karen...what else are you gonna do for
us today?

Nicely done Lady....BTW...have you eaten
oysters today?  Seems you are in that mood.

This is enchantingly lovely Karen. What a beauty to post for your 4,000. That’s a lot of great poetry, and a lot of wonderful responses. Your responses are some of the most thoughtful I’ve seen. When I respond to a poem after you, I always want to write  “yeah, what Karen said”!!

Goodness Karen, I give you a standing ovation, dear! I couldn't even dream of hitting 4000 in the next year, so busy with other things, I don't get a chance to come and read much. You certainly have dedication and spunk!

PS-the poem was an awesome one for the 4000th.
