I'll Keep On Loving You

Naively I thought that we
could be together forever.
Innocently I wanted to experience
every given moment of pleasure.
Secretly I wondered if I had the strength
to be everything that she required
and if she could be my special one
or simply the object of my lustful desire.
Openly I gave her every part of me and in
foolish mediocracy eventually took it all away.
Now I understand that my worst mistake
was giving up before we were through.
For now I know that you haven't given up on me
and I finally realize that every piece of my heart
wants to keep on loving you.
