I forgot something this morning.
Silly of me to even consider that.
How many days have I forgotten?
Or a moment of  anger, did  not to say...

I thought of it on the way to work
It just seemed to overpower, haunt me.
How could I have ever been so selfish?
How simply rude, totally crass of me.

I forgot to tell you my dear... I love you.
I didn’t say to you.. that I deeply care.
I forgot to say...this man so misses you.
Even though.... you’re already there.

I missed that little peck on the cheek.
I didn’t caress  the top of your hair.
Oh Geee, you make my knees weak
Someone please go  find me a chair.

I love the way you always  smile at me.
I love those eyes that sensually say I will.
I cherish each thought of  you, you  see.
Until my soul and heart are finally still.

God gave you to me as a heavenly gift
The finest gem a man can hold or touch.
For sands of love my hands do finely sift...
Yes, oh yes... Dearest, I  love you so much.

Please my dear, forgive this mere  man
who lives to touch  the ground you walk.
A breath eternal to love you all that I can.
My pledge to you, this  I shall not balk.

For within my heart I hold you now
to  keep you ever secure and warm.
For life and love I will ever vow
to protect, hold and keep  from harm.
