My smile, a show
For all to see
Echoes inside
So hollowly

On display and happy today
People I meet, see me neat
Mask in place and
My package so very complete

A mask and cape
Darkness can drape
Depth and despair
Inside my hollow lair

From inside I watch
The same false displays
The people I meet
They all seem so neat

Are we all hiding inside?
Nursing our pain
Acting so happy
What have we gained?

Karilea, Kathleen & Rose Petal,
Thanks so much for the warm welcome!  You are helping me become comfy quickly.

Enchantress & ctowen,
Frankly, I am particularly partial to anyone who thinks my humble posts could be "excellent", muchos gracius!

Lyra,
You made me blush when you indicated that I have wisdom!

Marsha,
Wow, thanks for the support.  I hope you will still think my little post indicates that I'm an excellent poet once you realize that I'm really a 38-year-old mother of two, and have a chance to get to know me a little better.  Thanks so much for big welcome!

I hope to get to know each of you through your writing and comments in the weeks ahead!

Hello, and welcome. I'm a few days late to the welcome wagon, but no matter, I made it. Here at Pips you can wear a mask, take it off, re-design it....whatever face you feel comfortable with is OK. Smile or frown, up or down, we have the whole showcase here.
