standing on a shadow's lace

out
in the distance
hidden from
my view
a fireplace
is burning
familiar
smell of you

I had
tear washed you
out of
my mind
but here again
you sneak
in a crack
I didn’t find

it all came back
to me
the way
that I had felt
how you
had touched me
the way
I let my walls
melt

smoke is
a haunting melody
a sad song
of pain
I had almost
forgotten it
now
a new refrain

I let the smoke
surround me
osmosis to my soul
but just as
that white smoke
you were
impossible
to hold

once again
I brush away
my tears
balancing myself
back on my feet
singing the unfinished
song of my life
a melody I’ve yet
to complete

"I have already paid for all my future sins."  Sade...(King of Sorrow)

That was my favorite part. This was very much enjoyable to read.

1slick_lady - sadness embraces, but your warm and tender heart will prevail. A very beautiful sad writing, as you do...

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Helen, I can feel such sorrow behind these words, but also a beacon of hope and perserverance! (sigh) Love will always find a way, sweet friend, and you will find that melody that will fill your life with sheer joy! (kiss on cheek) We all love you so much, sweet Helen! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Helen, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

So sad but hauntingly lyrical.
Much enjoyed Helen.
